Brac University has appointed three distinguished professionals to its board of trust, adding significant expertise in higher education, academic leadership, financial governance and institutional development as the university enters a new phase of growth.
Newly appointed trustees are Dr Claire Gordon, director of the Eden Centre for Education Enhancement at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); Masud Khan, FCA (India), FCMA (India) and CMA (Australia), chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and former chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Ltd; and Imran Rahman, former vice-chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
The appointments were approved through Brac University’s established governance process and reflect the institution’s commitment to bringing together national and international expertise to support its strategic priorities.

“At this important moment in Brac University’s journey, we are delighted to welcome three highly accomplished individuals to our Board of Trustees,” said Tamara Hasan Abed, chairperson of the Brac University board of trust.
“Their extensive experience in global higher education, university leadership, financial governance and institutional development will provide valuable insights as Brac University continues to enhance teaching and learning, improve student experiences and expand research with meaningful impact,” she added.
Dr Claire Gordon brings extensive expertise in educational development, curriculum enhancement, academic advancement, career development, digital innovation and inclusive practices in higher education. At LSE, she has played a key role in advancing teaching and learning innovation, shaping institutional approaches to generative artificial intelligence in education and promoting international academic collaboration.
Her appointment is expected to contribute a global perspective to BRAC University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen curriculum design, pedagogy and educational quality.
Masud Khan brings decades of experience in financial management, corporate governance, capital markets, audit oversight and board leadership across multinational and national organisations. His expertise will support the Board’s fiduciary responsibilities while contributing to the university’s financial sustainability, governance effectiveness and institutional accountability.
Professor Imran Rahman brings extensive experience in university administration, business education, academic governance and institutional transformation. As a former vice-chancellor of ULAB and a long-standing academic leader, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of higher education in Bangladesh.
His experience will support Brac University’s continued focus on student-centred learning, academic excellence and institutional development.
