Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) requires most applicants to apply through UCAS. Applicants may select up to five courses, including multiple choices at the same university. For Medicine and Dentistry, UCAS allows only four choices, with a permitted fifth choice in another subject area.

Application Deadlines

  • Equal consideration deadline: 14 January 2026 for most courses.
  • International applicants may have more flexible deadlines but are strongly advised to apply early, especially for competitive programs.

Applicants from Crimea/Sevastopol, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria must contact QMUL Admissions before applying.

Medicine and Dentistry Applicants

Applicants must sit the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) in addition to meeting academic requirements. Medicine in Malta (QMUL’s five-year MBBS) is not applied for via UCAS; applicants apply directly to Queen Mary.

QMUL also welcomes intercalating students from other medical or dental schools.

Foundation Programs

International Foundation Year (Direct Application)

International students may apply directly for foundation routes in:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Business and Management
  • Economics and Finance
  • English, Geography, Global Health, Law, Politics
  • Science and Engineering (Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Medicine

Integrated Foundation Year (UCAS Application)

Four- or five-year degrees combining a foundation year with an undergraduate program. Available to UK, EU, and international students.

After You Apply

QMUL aims to respond within 4 weeks, although processing may take longer at peak times. Applicants who receive an offer must accept it through the appropriate system (UCAS or direct).

Extenuating Circumstances Policy

QMUL does not consider extenuating circumstances during admissions. Applicants are expected to work with their school or examination board to ensure circumstances are reflected in their awarded grades. Disabilities and long-term conditions are managed via reasonable adjustments, not through extenuating circumstances.
