North South University (NSU) has achieved leading national positions in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, marking a significant milestone in several academic disciplines.

In Business and Economics, NSU has been placed in the 501–600 band globally and stands jointly first in Bangladesh alongside the University of Dhaka.

In Medical and Health Sciences, the university secured a position in the 401–500 global band, sharing the second position nationally.

NSU has also demonstrated strong performance in technology and engineering disciplines. It is ranked in the 801–1000 band in Computer Science, while in Engineering it has been placed in the 601–800 band globally, achieving the distinction of being the top-ranked private university in Bangladesh in this subject area.

In Social Sciences, NSU earned a place in the 501–600 global band and emerged as the highest-ranked university in Bangladesh in this subject group.

Overall, in the THE Subject Rankings 2026 NSU achieved:

  • Jointly first nationally in Business and Economics
  • First nationally in Social Sciences
  • Jointly second nationally in Medical and Health Sciences
  • First among private universities in Engineering
