North South University Hosts AI, IoT and Robotics Day 2025 to Drive Smart Bangladesh Innovation

North South University (NSU) celebrated a major milestone in technological innovation by hosting the AI, IoT, and Robotics Day 2025 on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the NSU campus. Organized by the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (SEPS), the event brought together academics, researchers, students and industry leaders to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics are transforming Bangladesh’s technological future.

Opening Ceremony: Shaping the Future Workforce

The event began with a welcome speech by Shazzad Hosain, Dean of SEPS. Abdur Rob Khan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU, officially inaugurated the event. The keynote address was delivered by Manjur Mahmud, President of Datasoft Systems, titled “Building the Future Workforce: An AI-First Curriculum Model for University-Industry Sandboxes in Smart Bangladesh.” His talk highlighted how AI education and industry collaboration can prepare Bangladesh’s youth for the Smart Bangladesh 2041 vision.

Panel Discussion: Industry-University Collaboration

A high-level panel discussion followed on “Transforming Bangladesh’s Technology Procurement Policy to Foster Local Value Addition through Industry and University Collaboration.”
The panel included Benajir Ahmed, Founder Life Member of NSU; Mr. Hasibur Rashid, CEO of Intercloud Ltd.; Mohammad Nahidul Karim from the Ministry of ICT; Mohammad Tawrit, CEO of BdREN; Safwat Ahmed from Selise Digital Platforms; and M. Rokonuzzaman, Professor at NSU.
The session was moderated by Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU, who emphasized the importance of research-driven innovation and joint university-industry projects for sustainable technological growth.

The main highlight of AI, IoT and Robotics Day 2025 was the technology exhibition featuring live demos from NSU’s top research labs, including:

Faculty members and students actively interacted with guests, showcasing real-world applications of AI, IoT, and robotics in Bangladesh’s growing tech landscape.
