Department of Computer Science at American International University-Bangladesh
A landmark achievement in national research excellence has been realized by American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) as Muhammad Firoz Mridha head of the Department of Computer Science under the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and former member of the Research & Publication Steering Committee, has been recognized as the most productive computer science researcher in Bangladesh for 2025 based on Scopus-indexed publications.
According to Scopus data compiled on January 4, 2026, Bangladeshi researchers collectively produced 18,613 scientific publications in 2025, encompassing peer-reviewed journals, international conference proceedings, and scholarly book series. Among all research domains, engineering, computer science, and medicine emerged as the three most active fields nationwide—highlighting the country’s accelerating focus on technology-driven and applied research.
Within this highly competitive academic landscape, Dr. Mridha demonstrated exceptional scholarly productivity, authoring 96 Scopus-indexed research papers in 2025 alone. This outstanding contribution secured him the number one national position in computer science by publication volume and placed him among the top three most productive researchers in Bangladesh across all disciplines.
At the institutional level, Daffodil International University ranked among the leading universities in overall research output. Notably, AIUB achieved the 4th position among all private universities, reflecting its steady advancement as a research-driven institution with growing national and international recognition.
Professor Mridha’s accomplishment not only underscores his personal academic excellence and sustained leadership in research but also reflects AIUB’s strong commitment to high-impact scholarship, global academic visibility, and innovation in computer science and related fields.
