UAP Pharmacy Department Holds Industry Consultation to Update M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Marketing Curriculum

Department of Pharmacy at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized an industry consultation meeting on 25 February 2026 to review and update the syllabus of the M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Marketing program. The meeting aimed to ensure that the curriculum aligns with current pharmaceutical market requirements and prepares graduates for professional careers in pharmaceutical marketing.

The session was chaired by Dr. Zabun Nahar, Professor and Head of the UAP Department of Pharmacy, who welcomed marketing experts from leading pharmaceutical companies and requested their expert evaluation of the proposed syllabus. She highlighted UAP’s existing M.Pharm programs in Pharmaceutical Technology and Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, emphasizing that the new Pharmaceutical Marketing specialization will produce industry-ready graduates for marketing and management roles in the pharmaceutical sector.

Dr. Mohammad Shahriar professor and Dean of the UAP School of Pharmacy attended the meeting and stated that the consultation was arranged to obtain direct feedback from industry professionals and to strengthen alignment between academic programs and evolving pharmaceutical industry needs.

A. H. M. Nazmul Hasan assistant professor presented the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework of the program, detailing the course structure and learning outcomes. Industry experts shared insights on current trends in pharmaceutical marketing, including regulatory updates, product management, digital marketing strategies and global market exposure.

Representatives from major pharmaceutical companies, including Advanced Chemical Industries PLC, Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Renata PLC, Nuvista Pharma Ltd. and Opsonin Pharma Ltd., participated in the discussion and provided valuable recommendations to enhance the curriculum’s relevance to industry practices.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants for their contributions to strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
