Book “China in the Eyes of Bangladesh’s New Generation” Launched at North South University

A new book titled “China in the Eyes of Bangladesh’s New Generation” was officially launched in Dhaka on Thursday, featuring 19 articles written by 22 Bangladeshi authors.
The book launching ceremony was held at North South University (NSU), one of Bangladesh’s leading private universities, and attended by hundreds of dignitaries, including teachers, students, and officials from NSU, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, and several other prominent educational institutions.
Written in Bengali, the book was jointly edited by Ma Xiaoyan and Bulbul Ashraf Siddiqi, the Chinese and Bangladeshi Directors of the Confucius Institute at NSU.
The book was unveiled by Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU and Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh.
In his remarks, Professor Chowdhury praised China’s cooperative approach in global and regional affairs, noting that it has created “great opportunities for people worldwide, especially for neighboring countries like Bangladesh.”
He highlighted the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and China, saying:
“We believe this relationship will become even stronger in the future. This is because China always includes Bangladesh in its events, cultural exchanges, and academic programs.”
Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, commended the young Bangladeshi authors for their thoughtful contributions.
“Twenty-two young Bangladeshis wrote this book with great feeling, showing how deeply this new generation understands Chinese culture and the dialogue between our civilizations,” he said.
Li further noted that China’s current focus on high-quality growth, innovation, and skill development offers new avenues for cooperation.
“This creates new opportunities for partnership with countries like Bangladesh,” he added. “We welcome more friends from Bangladesh to learn about China.”
