UIU Computer Science Accreditation
United International University’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE) program has achieved a major milestone by earning accreditation under the Washington Accord, a globally recognized benchmark for engineering education.
The accreditation was granted by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education, operating under the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. It is valid for six years, from 3 December 2023 to 2 December 2029.
With this recognition, UIU’s BSCSE program is now aligned with international standards, placing it alongside accredited engineering programs in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. This confirms that its graduates meet globally accepted quality benchmarks.
United International University noted that the accreditation will enhance graduates’ global mobility, career opportunities and access to higher education abroad. Students completing the program during the accredited period are expected to benefit from stronger international recognition and competitiveness in the job market.

UIU also emphasized that maintaining Washington Accord standards ensures a high-quality learning environment, with a curriculum designed to develop the skills and competencies required in today’s global technology sector.
According to the university, this achievement reflects the collective effort of its academic community and strengthens its reputation in engineering education. It also reinforces UIU’s commitment to advancing quality education in line with the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4.
