Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of North South University (NSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Specialized Hospital (BSH) to strengthen collaboration between academic education and healthcare practice.

MoU signing ceremony took place at 11:00 am on Sunday at the VC Conference Room of North South University. The agreement aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world clinical experience, particularly in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

Abdul Hannan Chowdhury vice chancellor and Abdur Rob Khan treasurer of NSU attended the event as chief guests.

Also present were Professor Dr. Deepak Kumar Mitra, dean of the NSU School of Health and Life Sciences; Dr. Mohammad Hussain Shahriar, chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Dr. Ahmed Zahid Hossain, managing director of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital; along with senior faculty members and hospital representatives.

Under the MoU, NSU and BSH will jointly conduct hospital internships, collaborative research projects, training programs, workshops, and knowledge exchange initiatives. These activities are designed to enhance academic excellence, clinical exposure, professional development, and applied research opportunities for students and faculty members.

Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the importance of strong partnerships between universities and healthcare institutions in improving health education, advancing patient care, and fostering innovation in pharmaceutical sciences.

This agreement reflects a shared commitment by North South University and Bangladesh Specialized Hospital to develop skilled healthcare professionals and contribute to the overall advancement of Bangladesh’s health sector through education, research and institutional collaboration.
