North South University Creative Writing Course
North South University’s Department of English and Modern Languages is set to launch its inaugural Certificate Course in Creative Writing in spring 2026. This six-week intensive program is tailored for beginners and emerging writers seeking structured, mentor-led guidance in the realms of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. The course, developed and taught by faculty from the Department of English and Modern Languages (DEML) alongside esteemed guest writers from the Bangladeshi literary community, emphasizes the integration of personal, social, and communal experiences into writing. It particularly highlights Bangladesh’s cultural, social, and historical contexts, providing participants with a supportive environment to explore their craft, develop an authentic writing voice and immerse themselves in the country’s vibrant literary landscape.

Enrollment for the course will be open from January 4 to January 27, 2026. The program is accessible to both North South University students and non-students. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate that acknowledges their creative development. The course promotes the idea that it is never too late to begin or return to one’s writing journey, inviting individuals to let their stories take shape through participation.
